Understanding ranksource.

What is ranksource exactly?

ranksource is a global marketplace dedicated to sponsored content in online press. It directly connects advertisers with more than 100,000 press media, across 80 countries and 30 editorial languages.

Each publication sets its own rate and stays in charge of its editorial line. You deal directly with the newsroom on the format, the angle and the publication schedule.

ranksource secures the payment, supports the go-live and provides automatic monitoring for 12 months after publication.

So you're not an agency?

That's right. ranksource is a marketplace: advertisers and newsrooms work together on the same platform, without a middleman speaking for either side.

We don't represent any publication and we don't impose any exclusivity. Many agencies actually use ranksource on a daily basis for their own clients.

If you'd rather delegate the whole campaign, our Managed Campaigns plan lets our team run it end to end, the way an agency would.

How is ranksource different from a link-building platform?

ranksource publishes on premium press media that have real influence in their sector, anywhere in the world. These are recognised titles, not content farms.

SEO is just one of the use cases we cover. Alongside it sit brand authority, GEO (citations by AI models), crisis communication and product launches.

You choose your goal when briefing us, and ranksource adjusts the media selection, the format and the monitoring accordingly.

Who's behind ranksource?

ranksource is a self-funded French company, based in Toulouse.

It was founded by Marc de Zordo, with twenty years of experience at the crossroads of online publishing, advertising and tech, on multiple sides of the market.

How many countries do you operate in?

More than 80 countries and over 30 editorial languages, all accessible from a single platform.

The interface is available in 12 languages. Support is handled by our team in English, French, Spanish, German and Italian. Global coverage from your very first brief.

How do I get started?

Creating an account takes just a few minutes, whether you're an advertiser or a publisher. No card is required at sign-up.

You can pay each order individually or top up your ranksource wallet in advance to save time on the next ones.

From your first brief, our team is here to support you. No commitment, no subscription.

Use cases · what business goal ranksource answers.

What business goal does ranksource answer?

ranksource is organised around six main configurations, each with its own dedicated page.

  • SEO (domain authority)
  • GEO (citation by AI models)
  • Brand authority
  • Crisis communication
  • Product launch or strategic operations
  • Entering a new market

You tell us your goal when briefing. ranksource then fine-tunes the media selection, the publication format and the monitoring set up after go-live.

How do I build an SEO link profile with ranksource?

You describe your brief and your market. Our AI then shortlists the press media with the right domain authority on your topic.

You validate the list and place the orders. Each sponsored content piece includes a contextual dofollow link, integrated naturally inside a verified press medium.

12-month monitoring is included: if a link were to disappear, you are alerted and refunded automatically, with nothing to chase.

How does ranksource help me show up in ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity answers?

AI models rely mostly on authoritative press media to compose their answers. To exist in their outputs, your brand has to become a source cited by those media.

ranksource identifies the titles that carry weight in the main models' corpora, in your sector and your language, and coordinates several coherent publications.

The goal: be present and well described where those models go to fetch information.

How many publications does it take to build real brand authority?

There's no magic number. Brand authority is built through consistency and regularity, not through volume alone.

A typical trajectory runs around 6 to 12 sponsored content pieces per year, across 3 to 5 pivotal titles in your sector. The idea is to vary the angles: case study, research, point of view, sharp expertise.

Each publication then becomes a reusable asset for your sales, HR or investor narratives.

In a crisis, how long before publication?

Between 48 and 72 hours on the media that commit to that timing.

As soon as the brief comes in, our team identifies within a few hours the titles that can be activated within your window, on the audience you want to reach. You validate every step, from message to outlets.

The publication can run on several titles in parallel to balance the voice across search results and news feeds.

How do you coordinate a product launch or a funding round across several countries?

You share the target markets, the pivot date and the audience. Our team identifies the key titles country by country and arranges local writing, either by the publication's newsroom or by our language-specialist teams.

Embargoes are respected until D-day. Sponsored content pieces are published simultaneously at the agreed time, wherever you planned.

A consolidated report is delivered on D+1: titles published, audiences reached, links and early performance.

How do I roll out my brand in a new international market?

More than 100,000 press media across 80 countries and 30 languages, all reachable from a single interface, with no contract to sign country by country.

A cautious start is to test one or two sponsored content pieces on a pilot market, measure the impact, then adjust the angle before gradually opening the next countries.

No need to build a local team or sign with an agency on the ground: the same interface works regardless of the market.

Measuring · your campaign performance.

How do you measure the performance of a sponsored article campaign?

More than one marketing leader in two struggles to tie a concrete result to their content (Content Marketing Institute, 2025). The answer comes down to one rule: set the objective before the campaign, then track the two or three indicators that match that objective, and only those.

An SEO campaign is not measured like crisis communication. The questions below detail the indicators to track for each of the six objectives: SEO, visibility in AI answers, brand authority, crisis communication, launches, and entering a new market.

On ranksource, every publication stays monitored for 12 months: you know at any time whether the article is live and whether the link is still active.

Which KPIs should I track to measure the SEO impact of my sponsored articles?

Three indicators are enough. The number of press sites pointing to you (referring domains), earned one by one: this is the foundation of the trust Google places in your domain. Your domain authority, the "Domain Rating", which climbs as recognised titles talk about you. And your positions on the keywords that matter for your business, tracked over time in Search Console or your usual rank tracker.

The link between press and rankings is documented: 3.8 times more links point to Google's first position than to the ones below (Backlinko, analysis of 11.8M results).

Every article published through ranksource is monitored for 12 months: if a link disappears, you are alerted and refunded automatically. Your link profile stays clean and stable.

How do I measure my visibility in ChatGPT, Perplexity or Gemini?

Build a panel of questions your customers actually ask an AI before buying, then put them to the main models at regular intervals: ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot. Three indicators emerge: how often the models cite you, the sources they rely on, and your presence against your competitors on those same questions.

Also track how often recognised media talk about you: it is the factor most closely tied to your visibility in AI. 800 million people use ChatGPT every week (OpenAI, 2025): the search reflex is shifting, and the models cite reference media first.

On ranksource, every media page shows whether the title is accessible to AI crawlers, and our team can help you set up the tracking and read the results.

Which indicators measure brand awareness and authority?

Three signals, compared before and after your publications. Your awareness: the number of people searching for your brand by name. Your share of voice: the place you hold against your competitors in the titles that matter for your sector. Your inbound pipeline: incoming requests and your presence in tenders, where editorial authority makes the difference.

These indicators move slowly, but they carry weight: your brand earns 50% more recall when it appears in a real media outlet rather than on your own pages (Nielsen), and 60% of B2B decision-makers pay more to work with a brand seen as a reference in its field (Edelman-LinkedIn, 2024).

Authority is built campaign after campaign: track the cumulative trajectory of your press mentions, not each article in isolation. 95% of B2B buyers are not ready to buy today (LinkedIn B2B Institute): your content works for the day they will be.

How do you measure the effectiveness of crisis communication?

Three indicators, tracked day after day. The tone of coverage: how the tone of the articles about you evolves, from negative to positive, compared with the situation before the crisis. Your share of voice: your presence in the media against critical voices, to check that your narrative is regaining the upper hand. And the results page on your name: what a customer, an investor or a journalist sees on page one when they look you up.

The stakes go beyond communication: 63% of a company's value rests on its reputation, according to its own executives (Weber Shandwick).

Speed counts as much as volume: measure the time between the decision and the first publication. On ranksource, the fastest media publish within 48 hours.

How do you measure the impact of a product launch, a funding round or an M&A announcement?

Over a short window, three indicators. Your reach: the number of people touched by your press coverage during the launch window. Your share of voice against competitors over the period, to confirm it is your brand that stands out. And the interest generated: the rise in searches for your name and the traffic the media send you right after the announcement.

The measured risk is invisibility: 40% of new products have disappeared within two years (Marketing Letters, 2021). Coordinated coverage reduces the risk of going unnoticed.

For a multi-country launch, track these indicators market by market, over the same time window: it is the only way to compare what each country actually produced.

How do I measure my breakthrough in a new market?

The same families of indicators, read at the level of the target country. Your local awareness: searches for your name in the country, before and after your articles in the local press. Your referral traffic: the visitors the market's media send you, a sign your name is starting to circulate. Your assisted conversions: the role of your local publications in the journeys that lead to an enquiry or a sale.

Language is decisive: 76% of buyers prefer to buy in their own language (CSA Research). So measure each market separately, in its language, on its local search engine.

Proceed in stages: a test market, baseline indicators set before the first publication, then a country-by-country rollout.

How long before the results show?

It depends on the objective. A launch or crisis communication reads in days: search spikes, referral traffic, tone of coverage. SEO reads in weeks then months: indexation is fast, position gains settle in over a quarter. Visibility in AI answers varies: web-connected tools can pick up a new publication within days, while models trained on historical corpora update on their own schedule. Brand authority is measured over a trajectory of several campaigns.

That is the point of long-term tracking: every ranksource publication stays monitored for 12 months, the period over which a press article produces most of its value.

Advertisers · brands and agencies.

What's the difference between ranksource and an agency?

ranksource is a marketplace: you see each publication, its rates, formats and options before confirming, and you deal directly with its newsroom. You keep the final call on every trade-off.

Many agencies in fact use ranksource as infrastructure for their own clients: multi-client account, white-label billing, 30 or 60-day payment terms.

It's up to you to pick the mode that fits: run everything in-house, or combine ranksource with your usual agency.

Is it free to sign up and use ranksource?

Yes. Sign-up is free and doesn't require a credit card.

Access to the marketplace, smart search, the brief assistant, negotiations and 12-month monitoring are all included at no cost.

You only pay for the sponsored content pieces and production options you choose to order.

Which media can I publish on?

More than 100,000 recognised online press media, across 80 countries and 30 editorial languages. From national dailies to vertical magazines, including the established references in each sector.

You filter by domain authority, audience, topic, language or geography. The detailed listing for each publication gives you everything you need before ordering.

ranksource only lists authentic press media: every application is manually vetted at intake.

How much does a sponsored content piece cost?

The media price is set by each publication, based on its audience, reputation and requested format. ranksource negotiates continuously to optimize market rates on each of those formats.

The cart details the media price, any content production options and applicable VAT before payment.

No subscription, no monthly minimum. You pay per order.

Which formats can I buy?

Three formats are available, chosen at the time of order.

  • Sponsored content (base rate): with or without a link, depending on your goal, at the same price
  • Citation in an existing article: dedicated price, 30% below sponsored content by default
  • Simple link in an existing article: dedicated price, 30% below sponsored content by default

Available formats and the exact price are shown directly on each publication's listing: not all titles offer the full set.

How does it work in practice?

You create your account, you describe your brief and your goals. Our AI then shortlists the publications that match your angle and your budget.

You compare the listings, you validate the selected titles, and you place the orders. Our team and our tools support you at every step, from brief to go-live.

Who writes the sponsored content?

Three options are available, picked per order.

  • You provide your own copy.
  • You let the publisher write according to their editorial line.
  • You order writing from ranksource through Business, Editorial or Premium, with production and review by our team before it is sent to the publisher.

Either way, the publisher reviews before publication and keeps control of the final layout.

Can you run the campaign on my behalf?

Yes, that's the role of our Managed Campaigns plan. Our team takes the campaign end to end.

  • Strategy and framing
  • Publisher selection
  • Brief preparation
  • Article writing
  • Negotiation of terms
  • Performance reporting

The package starts at €2,400 per campaign, on top of the rates of the selected publications. It's the option built for communications teams who'd rather receive a deliverable than operate a tool.

What's the publication turnaround?

Between 48 hours for the fastest publications and up to 4 weeks for the biggest titles.

The turnaround is stated in plain sight on the publication's listing and confirmed before validation: you know exactly what to expect before payment.

How do you guarantee quality?

Every candidate publication is manually vetted at intake. Every sponsored content piece is reviewed by the newsroom before publication.

If a publisher turns down your brief, the amount is refunded with no fees onto your ranksource wallet.

If the sponsored content is modified or removed within the 12 months following publication, the refund is automatic: you are alerted, with no procedure to launch and no documentation to provide.

Is it compliant with Google rules and press ethics?

Yes. Every article is published as sponsored content, with the relevant disclosure according to the newsroom's policy and local law.

This is compliant with Google's editorial guidelines and with the codes of ethics of major newsrooms, in every country where we operate.

Which payment methods do you accept?

Several payment methods are accepted through Stripe.

  • Credit card
  • PayPal
  • Bank transfer
  • Other local methods depending on your country

You can also top up your ranksource wallet in advance to speed up the next orders. For agencies, 30 or 60-day payment terms are available on request.

Compliant invoices are generated automatically, with international VAT calculated by country.

What about an agency with multiple clients?

An agency account lets you manage distinct client sub-accounts, with white-label billing and reporting. 30 or 60-day payment terms are available on request, and API access is provided for in-house integrations.

A single point of contact at ranksource, with a dedicated account manager on meaningful volumes.

Is there an affiliate program?

Yes. Refer ranksource to your network: you earn up to 20% commission in advertiser credits (or 10% in withdrawable cash) for 12 months on your referrals' activity, their purchases as well as their sales.

Your contact receives $150 in welcome credit, unlocked once they have invested $500 of their own budget. Your personal link is in your dashboard, and the full details are on the Affiliate program page.

Selection is demanding: ranksource only lists authentic press media, in order to deliver on its quality promise to advertisers.

Which formats can I sell and how much do I earn?

You set your standard rate and, if you accept them, dedicated prices for insertions in an existing article. Three formats are available.

  • Sponsored content: with or without a link, at the same price
  • Citation in an existing article: dedicated price
  • Link in an existing article: dedicated price

If no dedicated price is set, ranksource uses a price 30% below the standard rate by default on the advertiser side. You can also apply a surcharge on sensitive categories (gambling, health, finance, crypto). Either way, you keep 100% of the rate planned for the offer.

Am I required to accept incoming briefs?

No. You are free to turn down any brief, with no fees, no justification and no penalty. Your editorial line is never up for sale.

You can also pre-ban certain advertiser categories if you don't want to receive any.

How long do I have to publish a brief?

You decide. You can commit to publishing within 48 hours for urgent briefs, or take a week according to your usual editorial pace.

Your commitment delays are shown on your media listing: the advertiser sees them before ordering.

How and when do I get paid?

ranksource acts as a trusted third party. The advertiser's payment is locked as soon as the order is validated.

Once the sponsored content piece is published, the amount is immediately credited to your ranksource wallet. No chasing, no unpaid invoice, no uncertainty.

Are my contact details visible to advertisers?

You stay anonymised by default during every negotiation.

The advertiser sees neither your email address nor your legal identity until the order is confirmed.

Does it impact my editorial line?

You keep full control from start to finish. You validate every brief before production, you review every sponsored content piece before publication.

You also choose the sponsorship disclosure ("sponsored", "partner", "in partnership with") that matches your editorial charter.
